Messages

Goal

Messages gathers your exchanges with organizers. Every booking request has its own thread: a conversation opens as soon as a message is exchanged about it, here or from a request's Conversation button in My bookings.

Steps

1. Open Messages in the menu; a badge there shows unread messages.
2. The list shows your conversations, unread ones first, then by latest activity. Each shows the organizer's name, the request concerned (preceded by the event when it is known), the last message and the number of unread messages.
3. Click a conversation to open it. On a computer, it shows next to the list; on a phone, full screen, with an arrow to go back to the list. The message attached to the request is recalled at the top of the thread.
4. Type in the Your message… field and send with the send button or the Enter key (Shift+Enter for a new line). Read appears under your message once it has been read.
5. Click View the booking to go to the Bookings page: that is where you accept, decline or send a quote.
6. From five conversations on, a search field lets you filter by name or event; Show more conversations loads older ones.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I reply in a conversation any more? The request was declined or cancelled: the thread stays readable, but nothing more can be written in it.

Can I write to an organizer without a booking request? No. Every conversation is tied to a request: the organizer gets in touch by sending you a request.

A conversation says “Request removed”. The request this thread was attached to has been removed.

I can't find a conversation with the search. The search covers the conversations already loaded: click Show more conversations to widen it.
